I made $55,000 last year---2 dependents--no husband--hardly any deductions---About how much will I have to pay?

Fill out your tax return and you'll have your answer. Not enough information to give you even a wild guess.

The wild guess above me assumes that you earned wages subject to withholding. If you were self-employed, the tax could be around $8,000 higher due to Self Employment taxes.

Around $5459. I'm assuming that you are not including yourself in the "2 dependents", and also that one of those dependents qualifies you to file as head of household. If you can't take head of household status, then $6551.

This is of course your total tax. What you have to pay when you file your return, or what you will get for a refund, depends on your withholding plus the $50 telephone excise tax credit that you are almost surely eligible for.

Without more info about the two dependents, it's not possible to tell you whether you are eligible for such things as child tax credit, dependent care credit, or any educational credits.
