The amplifyer are those little chip looking this, well, this one has 8 pins, wheres the #1 pin?

look for a small dot (pin 1). OR there could be a indent on one end of the chip. with the indent facing up, pin 1 is to the left. OR there could be a bevel on one side of the chip. with the bevel facing down, pin 1 is to the left.

it depends on the package used. your best bet is to get the data sheet for the part, it will show you.

By the way, there are two 8-pin configurations, the d.i.l. and the circular.
