if you are already teaching or working at a preschool ck out your old school textbooks, look at playgrounds at local preschools and ck out your local library, whether at the local college or public library for early childhood teacher books, or look up playgrounds

remember that just like indoors preschoolers need to have a variety of play areas, outdoors there still needs to be a dramatic play area, sand(or sand and water) art, bicycle/tricycle area, climbing areas and try to be sure there are some shaded areas, also you can check with your local licensing agency to be sure you do not include items no longer allowed on preschool playgrounds--in california for example there are very specific rules for swings/slides.

good luck

I would say get a swing set, and what ever you want, get a piece of paper and put in it what you want, sand box, swings, those fisher price houses, (Look at a used store for those...) then put the ideas in your back yard on paper and see where it looks best. change it as many times as you like until you like it.
