Mine never breaks. Treat the package with care and keep an eye on it immediately after you put it in the pot. If you let the dry spaghetti touch the edge of a hot metal pot for too long, it can burn.

Cooking or stirring too much when finished cooking u should rinse in cold then hot water cold stops over cooking and hot will heat it back up should not break this way. Some cooks break their noodles maybe your cook does this.

because it's brittle I guess, if you try and snap a small peice off the end it will break in two, or if you grab a handfull and brake them all in half at the same time, most of them will break in two.
