If you work for a retailer and are required to wear their apparel when working is it tax deductable. This is a fashion retailer.

No, it's not! It sure would be nice, but it isn't. The only way it is deductible is if you they have a uniform and you wouldn't/couldn't wear the clothes anywhere but at work. Example: a nurse.

Yes--you'd have to claim you wore the clothes only for work purposes and not for personal purposes though.

You can deduct the work related expenses but if all your deductions are less than the standard deduction, it's better to take the standard and not worry about itemizing your deductions on your taxes.

If you have to pay for it, you can deduct it as long as you have the reciepts and you itemize. The dollar amount may be limited and you should get it in writing in case you are ever audited and of course all IRS records must be kept for 7 yrs. A tax person will be able to inform you of the dollar amount.
