I have, and it only makes me more of a non believer. It is full of contradictions and fantisiful folklore. I wonder how many christians realize that their bible was chosen by Constantine, and that the people he asked to make the bible only selected the works they found applicable.

Yes - book by book, verse by verse. If more people would do that, the Bible and it's contents would not be taken out of context! I have read and re-read the Bible more than 4 times. God says His word is held above His name, that its contents are sharper than a 2 edged sword - cutting to the heart of man - able to discern between soul and spirit. The Bible is God's love letter to you......you should try it - start in John.

I'm not a christian and I own a stack of bibles of varying versions, all of which I have read completely through. There is no excuse for ignorance in my faith, so we tend to study. That way we don't have to be quiet at dinner parties, etc, as the Havamal counsed 'the foolish man'.

In my mind, there's no excuse for a christian to have NOT read their entire bible if an Asatru woman can read several versions.

You have a poor attitude. I feel really sorry for you. If you are happy, which I seriously doubt, it is a false happiness derived from putting others down.

I have read all but Leviticus and Deuteronomy (at least I don't lie about it), and feel that the scriptures are a history, they are how we get to know God, and the most important thing is love. It's unfortunate that you can't grasp that concept.

It's VERY rare to find a Christian who has read the Bible cover to cover---& the reason is simple---if they read what a homicidal, cruel God they worshiped--they would renounce their faith in a New York minute--To praise a deity who orders genocide, abortions, mass murder--who demands the death penalty for petty crimes like back-answering ones parents--or lighting a fire on the Sabbath-or a new bride for not being a virgin is plainly insane.

I understand why your an unbeliever. the bible doesn't sound like it's the word of god at certain point.

if it was the word of gad than it would not contradict it self both from the logic of faith and the logic of science.

On the other hand My religion is logical in every way both from the side of logic and also from the side of science. which is why I love my religion so much.

ROFL. (Yes and Yes and Yes again and again)

The Bible is an instruction Manual for a relationship with GOD through Jesus Christ. Without that relationship the Bible would make no sense at all. It would of had to be a painful experience and I have to wonder if you are telling us the truth.

Yes, I don't understand every word in the bible. I understand enough to know that God loves us enough that He sent His only Son to die on a cross for our sins. Yes, He loves us that much. Jesus wants to be your Lord and Savior. Please, if you don't understand the bible or just some parts, pray that the Lord would help you to find someone who in turn could help you to understand. If you really want to know. I would even suggest you could ask someone on this forum to help you. Jesus is reaching His hand out to you right now. Please consider this my friend.
It's too important not to.

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not to Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states that he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that, even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there "degrees" of abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them (Lev. 24:10-16)? Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws (Lev. 20:14)?
