Well, I would say that depends on a few things.
~What is the condition of the Nissan Murano? (body, how it runs, etc.)
~Is the Nissan paid off? If not what will be the difference in payment?
~What will be the difference in insurance, gas mileage, car tag, etc.?
~How do the safety features stack up?
Bottom line, I don't have enough information to judge. You must have reasons for wanting to trade to the new vehicle, but try asking yourself some of the above questions before you make the leap. If you have a good vehicle that is paid off (or almost paid off), that is reliable and safe, I would say hold off for now. That is just my two-cents worth. While you are asking the other questions, don't forget to ask the other important question:
What will make you happy.
Good luck!

Its hard to compare the 2 first off the FJ Cruiser compares more with an Xterra. The Murano is more of a luxuary SUV and is built on a car chassis (aka Maxima chassis) and the Xterra and FJ Cruiser are built on a Truck chassis. The Murano is by far a better vehicle since all the standard features you get are just awesome such as CVT transmission, dual climate control, and its FWD. The FJ is more of a rugged SUV not a luxuary SUV get the FJ if you plan to go offroad.

I know this is a stupid answer but yes you would be crazy. The fj cruiser is the ugliest thing i've seen next to a honda element. but that's just my opinion. the murano is a very sporty looking suv. the fj looks like the retarded brother of the hummer, lol.
I guess you it depends on what you want to use it for, if you're around alot of asphalt, go with the murano. If you want something to offroad in, go with something other than an fj, unless you want people laughing at your suv when you simply drive by.

Look if you just want to drive around town in comfort stick with the Murano. The FJ is a totally different animal. It can do everything the Murano can and a lot more. I have one and with alot less offroad experience have left jeeps, dodges, chevys at the bottom of a lot of steep grades. If you want the FJ to have fun with, you'll be very happy. Otherwise stick with your boring SUV.

Its pretty simple actually it all depends on you!
Murano -
1. Built on a car chasie will drive and handle like a car.
2. CVT Transmission makes for a smooth ride.
3. Luxuary Features that compare to Lexus RX330
4. One of my favorite SUV's ever!
FJ Cruiser -
1. Compares to Nissan Xterra not Murano.
2. Built on a Truck Chassie so it will be a stiff bumpy ride.
3. normal transmission and worse gas mileage.
4. ITS A TRUCK!

In my opinion, yes. The Murano is clearly a better daily driver and family car. It also has all-wheel drive and can handle muddy roads and normal off highway stuff.
The FJ rides like a tank and burns more fuel. The Murano's resale is strong and the FJ's is unknown. Keep the Murano and save the extra money.
ps: rakapur is an angry person who knows nothing about cars. Check out his previous questions. He's just angry all the time.

Yes, just the fact the Toyota FJ Cruiser gets worse gas mileage. If you don't care about gas prices or a smoother ride than go for the Toyota.

I'm not a fan. but Nissan and Toyota make great cars. This might just come down to personal preference.
