Please click on the link and read carefully. In photographing human. If you're using wide lens the person will be distorted. What I mean by distorted is the subject become wider. Nose, face, stomach, arm everything getting wider. Which is why people say they look bigger (or sorry fatter).

That's why if you go to studio for photo they always use longer focal length lenses such as 85mm 100mm or 105mm lenses. and the result sometimes even better then the real person

No the twinkies do.

Actually it is a myth. If you photograph a person in a downward angle (as when the photographer is taller than the subject), the photo can appear slightly wider. This is only in those cases.

Professional photographers will photograph models from a lower angle to make the model appear taller and slimmer.

In general the excuse that the camera adds 10 lbs. is more commonly used to spare someone's feelings.

If the camera is extremely cheap and the lens is at a wide angle there may be extreme distorations but it is a myth for the most part since cameras dont get that low (I hope.)

no it doesn't

people with eating disorders look super dooper skinny on film or in person, so that's why i don't think it adds 10 lbs.
