I'm confused about what my friend thinks of me. I've known him properly for about three months, and we generally hang around in a group. Sometimes I get the feeling he likes me. He looks at me and smiles at me a lot. He often sits next to me. If I'm talking to other people he often seems to be listening to what I'm saying, and sometimes joins in with the conversation, commenting on what I've said. He'll remember things I've said to him, or things I've said when he's around from weeks before. He'll always comes over and talk to me when he gets the chance, and sometimes when I'm talking to other people he'll hang around me, as if he wants to talk to me but doesn't have the chance to. He's generally quite shy, and doesn't give much away, so it's hard to tell what he's thinking. What signs should I be looking for? How can I tell whether it's just friendship he wants, or more?

The other day we were both at a mutual friend's house for dinner. For the first half of the evening he didn't really look at me, but for the second half of the evening he mostly made eye contact with me. Why was that? Also, I'd mentioned a photo of me on Facebook. He isn't on Facebook, but he told me a couple of days later that he'd seen the photo of me - he'd been looking on his friend's Facebook account.
