All of the previous answers are basically bull from people who have no idea.... sorry to say.

If you are at an open bar with any people of class or want to demonstrate that you understand.... you tip. Its not a percentage thing. You get a few drinks you drop in a couple of bucks. It doesn't have to be a lot because lots of people don't know the ettiquitte.

You get there and you make a bit of small talk with the bartender even how are you tonight kind of thing. Leave a buck or two. Later when all of the fools are rushing the bar you can just walk up and get some special attention. You will look like a gentleman that deserves respect and gets it..... just by tipping a bit. Nothing major... just some each time you go back.

Your suppose to tip them 10% to 20 %. SO give him 15% of what ever you pay for for the drinks. LOL
I tip the waitresses in Vegas who brings me the tiny free drinks in the casino. I guess you do. I'm just mad that the amount you tip is gone up. When My mother was a Bartenders, she gets quarters and dimes. Now you're suppose to tip a dollar for a two dollar beer. Like there's a lot of service for handing you a bottle. My friend who was a waitress won't work as a waitress in the Bar/restaurant, because of how much a beertender makes for the amount of work they do. Of course you should always be nice to those who serve yo. Spit doesn't taste good. Then again, you can always watch a bartender when he pours your drink.

The rule is to tip before the discount. In this case you are being discounted 100%. But the bartender works for minimum wage or close to it and doesn't expect to actually bring MINIMUM WAGE home, he's actually working for the tips. So tip him 15% of what the drinks cost at LEAST. They usually get far more than 15% but during open hour, you get a little leeway. NO tip... is unacceptable. People in the foodservice industry despise it when people are too cheap to tip on the total BEFORE the dicount was applied.

i'm hoping that yours would not value a equipment. I easily have seen very stunning human beings have funds bars then it merely KA-BOOMED on them. while human beings hear the be conscious loose, something occurs of their heads. unexpectedly they want one. so there will be people who have not had a drink in a on an identical time as that unexpectedly want 3. then there are people who as quickly as they have 3, will now no longer realize it's time to end so as that they could have 6. then there are people who will understand their cut back thank the Lord. i additionally around up, so in case that's greater it incredibly is like i stored funds. :) so i could choose for 5-6 beverages a individual. 0_0 that's $9,240! (for the poster above, you're able to take 6 situations situations each and all the human beings 220 situations the cost of the beverages. you merely have how many beverages would be fed on). that's amazingly some beverages, yet that's for the severe part. i don't understand lots approximately beverages, yet possibly you're able to cut back the dearer ones just to cocktail hour, then replaced the drink menu to the greater value-effective beverages. that way they could nevertheless get one or 2 fruity little drink.

I would say yes, out of being courteous, no matter if it is closed or open. They dont expect it, but it is always a nice gesture.

I give a few bucks here and there so every time that i go up there he remembers me, and I usually get faster and better drinks than others who skimp and dont offer anything.

They are up there working hard, a tip is just a nice way to say thanks.

You don't ever technically, have to tip anybody. If you want good service though, probably. During open bar, I don't know because I don't go to bars. But that is a good question in case I am ever in that situation. Be interesting to find out.

No, you don't have too, but you should. Especially since you're drinking for free! They still get paid the same, no matter who is paying for the drinks.
