I've been told that the planet Mercury stands for the masculine and feminine but I am having trouble any information.

Any help would be very appreciated. Also any symbols that represent the male and female would be nice, as well.

You might be confusing the planet Mercury with the element mercury, which in alchemy is considered a hermaphrodite (having both masculine and feminine characteristics).

I'm training to become a witch. My training about the planets is still young, but I do know that when Mercury is in certain positions, you shouldn't do magick. Also, its symbol is a female symbol, except there's a little half circle on top of it.

I don't know about the meaning of mercury, but the female symbol looks like a v and the male symbol looks like an upside down v. (like this: ^) they are the chalice and the blade.
