You'll be stationed where the Navy needs you and that could be anywhere in the world there's a US Navy base. YN's are needed everywhere. I concur with the previous poster about submarines (if you're male). There's usually 2 YN's on board and most of the time, they're treated like kings (after you qualify on subs) since they take care of ALL the paperwork.

If I were there right now I'd kick you in the head.Have some self respect woman .He broke up with you and went out with another girl from your high school .Probably said some nasty **** about you to make her feel like she was better than you and It was ok to treat you like dirt. Why do you even talk to this jerk at all???? Don't fall for any of the BS he's throwing at you like the flirting and the weird relationship questions...He doesn't care about .He knows no matter what he does or how he treats you you'll stick around and he loves the ego boost being with you gives him. Also why buy the cow when the milk is free right ....I mean when he needs company your there and then he just forgets about you. SNAP OUT OF IT WOMAN !! I totally understand that he was you high school sweetheart but after letting some girl bad mouth you like that you should never speak to him again ever .Do you really want to be in this half relationship.I suggest you start respecting yourself more and realize that there are many good guys out there that would want a serious relationship with you and not just fool around with you. My advice as of now is NEVER SPEAK TO HIM AGAIN.GO MEET NEW PEOPLE

YN (Yeoman) A School was in Meridian, MS when I was on active duty. Check out submarine duty. You get paid more, promote faster and you'll see things the surface fleet can't offer.

If you wind up on a Boomer Submarine (SSBN) you'll be able to take college courses while you're on Active Duty and if you wind up on a Fast Attack Submarien (SSN) you'll see foreign ports and walk away with some experiences that'll you'll never forget.

Talk with your Recruiter about submarine duty and see if you can get signed up (if you are interested) for Submarine School before you go to Yeoman in Meridian. That way you'll be paid for Sea Pay and Hazardous Duty Pay while you're sitting in the classroom at Meridian.

When I got out of GM A school(back in 88') there was a list of duty stations and the top student got the first pick. The second got the second pick and so on until they were all gone. I finished towards the bottom and requested and received brother duty in Virginia. You can always send in a request chit but they will most likely put you where they need you. Haze gray and underway!!!

I don't know about the NAVY, but when I was in the Air Force, I didn't find out where I was going until I was 2-3 weeks from completing Tech school. Good luck and Congrats!!!

You can pick orders if you're at the top of your class. But you may want to read up on bases on where you want to go. Talk to your recruiters on the best place to go. Good Luck to you

Why YEOMAN? Why not a job that translates into a REAL job in the civilian world?
