They make a white putty type stuff that you can find at Walmart or home stores that has the texture of chewing gum. You roll it into little balls and it acts as an adhesive but doesn't leave any residue or sticky-ness on the items you are hanging or the walls.

I am not sure what the max weight is of the items it will hang but it works well on poster board so it should work for CDs. Cost is really inexpensive and it should be easy to find either in the section where they have the "picture hanging" supplies or school supplies.

Found a link and a user described it above, called Sticky Tack. They also carry some at stores that isn't called by that name brand but you can find it at most home stores.

I did just read some additional yahoo answers about the subject of sticky tack tho and people have complained that it left oily residue on the wall in the places it was applied when left for long periods.

Tape will definitely do more damage to the paint tho so I definitely wouldnt use that.

Sticky tack is a good product but it can tear the paint off the walls in some cases.

If you aren't going to leave it on long, masking tape that you first stick onto your sleeve once or twice may work (this causes a fluff build up and makes it less adhesive).

there's a product obtainable suggested as "command". I had some bamboo trays that i could not use a nail with, you stick it to the again & peel the paper backing off & press it to the wall. that is an similar important as velcro. it might properly be discovered in the picture putting area at any domicile progression keep. I want utilising this now quite of nails.
