Girls, can you explain something for me?

Why do you get so mad when guys don't give you something for Valentine's Day? It's a useless day that greeting card companies made up to give them extra business. Some guys like me are too embarassed to give all kinds of flowers to a girl. That is why I dumped my girlfriend years ago. She cried when I didn't do anything for her. I thought is was funny. She was so demanding and selfish.

The day really has no meaning.

It's not that I hate her. It's just such a day of greed.

im with you valentines day is just a waste of money theres no meaning to it if you wanted to prove your love for someone you dont need to wait for one day a year to come round to buy them something
and whole my god yes i am a female and did have someone on valentines day but didnt get nothing and i didnt care id rather it that way

Then topp it off a month later give her the real "token" later. A flower just because I think or what ever your "token" would be woudl mean much more then a VDay gift. Just because things some times are better anyways. Did you ever think about it this way...? Maybe it's selfish of you to let your feelings toward the holiday get in the way of doing something nice for someone you care about.
While I agree that VD is just a bunch of hooey, and I wish that most girls didn't make such a big deal out of it, if a girl does take the day seriously - then what's so wrong with that? After all, guys have a hard enough time being romantic - you should be thankful when a nice, BIG remainder comes along... though amazingly enough you all forget VD too. :P

I dont get upset if i dont get anything for valentines day. Valentines day is a day for you to show how much you care for someone and it dosent have to cost the earth. If u are to embarassed to give flowers and stuff go out of your way with dinner maybe its the little things that count not the cost. The fact you remembered is a good thing. I dont think she wa being selfish she just didn't think you cared.

Maybe that's why you should be alone. You are mean and you are so selfish. Dumping her was the best thing for her. Yes, I agree that the day was made up for business, but if you are broke then you should tell her you are, instead of being a @sshole. Something or someone has left you heartless, maybe you need to see someone about your problem.

True. Valentine's Day has turned into commercialism. It should not take a special day to show someone you love them. You should show them everyday. Unfortunately, most girls expect something on that day. Most guys will produce something for their girls if they want to stay out of the dog house. It's just the way it is. Sorry.

I have never had a girl mad for not getting a Valentine's gift. I am going to miss buying it this year. It'll be cheaper of course but would still be nice to have someone special to buy a pressy for. I'm all for Valentine's day although I need no excuse to buy flowers or chocolates.

Did something bad happen to you on Valentine's Day? I usually hear that response from people who either got dumped on Valentine's Day or don't have anyone. Some women get mad because they feel that their boyfriends or husbands don't care enough about them to give them something nice on a "romantic" day. It's more of us wanting a gesture from our guys to know that they love us. That's basically it unless someone has something else to add. Many blessings.

first of all, even if valentines day was made up by the card companies it doesnt matter. because valetines day is an extra day to show some one that you care about them. we get mad because we think you dont care. so what if you are embarassed to give a girl flowers, give her a card! you dont have to do anything BIG!!! something simple to show that you care!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds to me like you're the selfish one, and she was probably mad because you wouldn't put her before yourself for one day of the year. Some people care about Valentines Day, and others do not. But you need to respect the people that do as much as the people that don't. Especially if you are dating them.

Maybe it's not so much the lack of a gift, but you attitude about it that upsets them. There are lots of girls who think it's a stupid holiday to, but when it comes down to it, it's still nice to know that someone thought about them on valentines day. If you're embarased to give flowers, give something else! Be creative!
