A few weeks ago I noticed my skin between my right ear and the begining of my head to feel a little more tighten and red then my left ear. Then a weeks after that it started to hurt more. Now today I found a bump behind my ear. It is usually soft, it is sort of thin, hurts if I touch it, a little chapped, and starts near the bottom and works up my ear and keeps getting thiner. It only goes up about 40% of my ear ( not including the front flappy part LOL. Anyways it is really bugging me. I have been getting many colds lately and getting more sypceptible and now I am starting to get one again. I think it is most likely a lymph gland, but I am not so sure. Idk what to do or even to worry.

Hard to diagnose from a distance...I tell my patients over the phone that they must come in to be diagnosed and treated...but...there is a lymph node in the area you are describing called the postauricular lymph node. Yes it would get tender and enlarge with infection. Get to a doctor....any kind of nodules should be seen and diagnosed.

that is a cyst... probably in an oil gland... you need to have it removed and it is an easy procedure done in a Dr's office...a little freezing and they will take it out.. no need for stitches... it pops out like a little hard lump... similar to a pea...no big deal but get it looked at soon cause if it was to become infected.. it can travel down into your ear canal
