Shouldn't you just include your own thoughts unless the person who asked the question is asking you to find a verse?

There are occasions when a verse might be appropriate. But usually people quote verses to establish the truth of something or other not directly related to the bible, and that is inappropriate since the bible has errors.

Many have NO issue with quoting from other journals, books, etc., yet when quotes from the bible appear the piling on by the flippant begins. Yet, why is it one would more readily believe something quoted from Homer's Illiad than from the bible?

Most do not realize the biblical texts have been better preserved from their original languages than any other writings known to mankind.

An excellent discussion of the reliability of the bible as a source can be found at:

I don't find it annoying but I do believe that when people are just asking a simple question they are just trying to find out what other peoples thoughts are on the subject. To add a verse in the bible is cool if it has something to do with the subject :)

Hi moon freak!!!

Is my believe that I have being responding to answers with my personal opinion. But I wish I could cite Bible verses to compliment them!!!

I had read the Bible in several occasions, for different reasons, and yet I can never remember, verses or books, for precise citing, so I prefer NOT TO.

I rather give my humble Christian opinion, hoping to get that person to want to look for themselves.

GOD BLESS YOU & HAPPY LIFE

A.Z.

Depends on the question, but for the most part, I think what they are looking for in answers are your thoughts and not the verses from the Bible.....otherwise, that is where they would look for their answers.

Many people don't understand the difference between an opinion and a belief. Many people who are on Yahoo Answers asking questions about Jesus and the Bible are either bored or just plain evil. Even if you believe a person's opinion, what have you gained?

some times it's very necessary, especially the way the bible is represented up here, like some fairy tale book. I personally think it's okay to use a verse in answers. Using the Word helps the person asking the question the views of God. I wish everybody wouldn't give christians such a hard time.

I always like to let the answers flow as it comes, but occasionally I will add a little something (thought) that came from the bible, if it suits to drive home a point, that otherwise may be lost.

If the verse answers the question then yes.

If the question warrants it then I will use Bible verses to support my answers. Most times I can include my own thoughts to these questions.
