Who here believe's the Earth is only 6000 years old?

Question

Beside's the "Bible says so" what do you base your belief on? Scientific evidence is now capable of dating the earth at 4 billion years. I'm not wanting to have this answered in a creation v evolution debate. I think thats been covered enough. I'd just like to hear from people on the date/age of the earth..and why? People must base thier beliefs on some sort of evidence to convince themselves as the accepted truth. So what convinced you?

GEEEESH, no! Besides having two anthropologist grandparents, I've done much reading on the subject.

There's not a shred of doubt in my mind that the earth is much more than 6000 years old. In fact, it's impossible for the earth to be just a few millenia.

I wish more Fundies would do more research on all sides of the box and not just arrive at a one dimensional conclusion: the bible.

Besides, a lot of them are converts. Ahh! Fierce conviction of the finest, eh?

The bible says that there are 6 creative days, those days are 1,000 years long. How much time passed between each day, we have no way to measure accurately.
The earth and the universe without any doubt, is billions of years old.

I don't believe God created the world in a literal 6 days and I really have a hard time swallowing that the Earth is 6,000 years old. Prove to me that the world is 6,000 years old and that God created everything in 6 calendar days.

im a christian and believe in the 7 day creation ... and i do not argue with the fact that the earth and the universe is much older than the creation ... and that doesnt go against anything written in genesis ...
