Hi !!!
I as understand, yes the SABBATH DAY is, SATURDAY!!!
But in the Bible their is a passage where it refers when JESUS THE LORD was preaching about this, and the same question was asked.
In the Bible says that HIS response was, that even the resting day was in a Saturday, who was to leave their children hungry, and NOT to make dinner, and starve them, just because it was SATURDAY, or the resting day???
Again refer to the Bible and you will find this in it.
GOD BLESS YOU & HAPPY LIFE
A.Z.

No, it is not wrong to work on Saturdays or Sundays. Why would it be? Because a book said so? Only for the gullible I guess...

No root text specifically names the sabbath as a certain day of the week. Saturday and Sunday are decisions made by the founding leaders of the different sects. So, you must go by what your particular sect has decided.

I don't think it is wrong but you need to make sure that you attend another service if your church has more than one church service or some have them on Saturday nights. You just have to make sure you are hearing the word too because faith comes from hearing the word of God.My husband prefers not to work on Sundays so he can go to church. I refuse to work on Sunday it is the Sabbath Day.

Fourth commendment... remember the sabbath day to keep it holy. It's amazing how people remember & keep 9 of the 10 commendments forgetting that God himself wrote them. People bend rules to their own favor, even God's rules... some say it's switched to sunday... I think that God, in his infitine knowledge, would have warned us to switch days if He really wanted to. Sabbath is sanctified by God.
Of course there are exeptions... hospitals can't be left unnatended... Jesus spoke of that himself...You should look for it yourself on the Bible.

Strict Jewish people do not work (or drive, ride elevators, etc) from sundown Friday until sundown Saturday.
Strict Christian people do not work on Sundays.
I just wonder what happens to the people who are forced (by the state) to work for a company that will not allow them to observe their sabbath.

Its Sunday for Christians. Technically on Sundays you're not even allowed to cook, drive a car, or take care of small children. According to the Bible, you can be killed for it.

i believe so ... but I work a rotating schedule (4 on, 2 off) so I don't get much of a choice in the matter. I really need the money to pay my bills.

I use to go to a Baptist church and he always preached against working on Sunday. It was no excuse to miss church because you had to work, but after the service we would all get together and go eat at a restaurant. We had working people WAITING on us.I always thought that was so wrong......
