Sgt524 answered the question . Do to an out of control corrupt government that wastes and spends tax dollars like water . Politicians and judges who have no regard or the Constitution or the oath they swore to defend it ,passing laws that are unconstitutional .Twisting and distorting the obvious meaning of the constitution to suit their needs to use as a tool to rob and victimize the people for government profit ..Our courts where to seek justice for all. justice is >(an impartial judgment based on truth fact and reason ) police are allowed to lie and falsify documents to the court as fact .With absolute immunity from any damages for doing so .While a defendant is charged with perjury and faces 10 years for lying . This is not an impartial judgment ,nor a judgment based on truth . Judges do not tell the jury they are not only to judge the innocent or guilt of the person ,(but also the law and the punishment for that offense ) If a jury had no power to judge of the justice of a law ,it plainly can do nothing to protect the people against the oppressions of government . >.Lysander Spooner : A jury is to protect people from government, not convict them for government So there is no justice in our court system today .There are more crimes committed in the court rooms of America in one day than on the streets in one year .The most destructive tyranny of all is from within, that pretends to be beneficial . Does this sound like our legal system today ? - ( its better that 10 guilty people go free than 1 innocent person suffer )>William Blackstone .Thanks to DNA we freed 300 innocent people we were going to execute .Because we could !

They aren't really...unless you are talking about speeding. In which case, they are trained at special driving schools for that kind of stuff. The logic is also that it makes sense to have TRAINED police speeding to catch a criminal because there is a net utility gained by having a dangerous criminal stopped *as soon as possible* before they can hurt civilians that the police are entrusted to protecting.
Keep in mind that some serious criminals have been allowed to walk free due to police impropriety in manners like Miranda rights, search and seizure, etc. Those things are all addressed in courts, so I personally think it is a little hasty to suggest that the police can just run rampant.Perhaps you should clarify your question a bit to highlight what laws you think are being broken by the police that they are allowed to get away with?

They are not technically allowed to break the law to catch a criminal. Although they will break the law to make an arrest, the charges won't stick if the police actually broke the law.

here is what I have told citizens where I work that seem to think us "cops" are just a bunch of law breaking pieces of **** that don't deserve to wear the uniform and have authority.
LAY US ALL OFF!!! GET RID OF US ALL THEN!!! I beg you to do that. And all you whiney *** babies on here in a month would be begging to have us back. You know why? Because it seems the ones that are first to criticize us are the first screaming for our help. You people couldn't not protect yourselves from a nightmare let alone an actual intruder or criminal otherwise. You would cower in the corner in a puddle of piss with a snot bubble hanging out of your nose begging for someone like me to come protect you. Until the threat is over then you could resume your tough guy/girl status. you people make me laugh

Police are not allowed to break the law per say, but sometimes you got to do what needs to be done to get the scum off the street, and it is authorized before it is done in udercover work

I like Upnorthtimbercutter's answer! You people are amazing and have little to no clue. I mean, if you think you have so much to offer, and the system is so corrupt, then why aren't you running out there to become law enforcers and change things? I assume it's because you already have a mile long rap sheet of your own.

They aren't. So why don't you give us an example of how you believe the police are allowed to break the law, rather than simply making broad statements?

To keep everyone safe from the criminals.. if they weren't allowed to then the criminals would do whatever they wanted without having to worry about the cops coming after them.
