Living or Being right, which is more important? - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjnnC56H0wf2UjxlhWvTm7rsy6IX?qid=20070210161552AAAdf6J

Most of you agree that God is absolute, and living is more important than being right.

So the question is........How could we?

We, mere mortals, in our arragonce claim that each of us are absolutely correct. Isn't that wrong? Isn't God is the one that is absolute? Doesn't matter if we're Muslims, Christians, Atheists, Hindu, Buddhist, we'll find out the truth when we die.

How can we say our religion is absolutely right and others are wrong? Why are we so disrespectful? Why can't we live out our life ethicly, peacefully and in harmony instead of constantly upholding "You are wrong I am right"?

Maybe it's the Atheists who were right, when we die there won't be anything.

Maybe it's the Christians who were right, when we die we'll end up in Hell.

For all we know it was the Egyptians who got it right and we'll be screwed by Anubis.

So why can't we live with each other in perfect harmony with our own religious beliefs, live life the best we could. Ethicly, morally, spiritually speaking. What is more important, for that guy to be wrong or for us to do good in this world?

How can we say our religion is absolutely right and others are wrong?

One cannot say that he is absolutely right whereas others are wrong. Such a statement is only a relative statement.

Why are we so disrespectful?

We can agree to disagree respectfully.

Why can't we live out our life ethicly, peacefully and in harmony instead of constantly upholding "You are wrong I am right"?

Harmony should be based on even if you are wrong and I am right, I still love you, by which the person who is wrong will correct himself. Jeseus said, "Love the sinner, hate the sin"

Are you insane? You blithely say "if Christians are right you end up in Hell" Do you think that is a small matter?

I had previously avoided your question due to its obvious intent, but then you go and spout sheer ignorance. I am not trying to be mean, but that is the nicest way to put it.

True if Atheist's are right it did not matter...except that as a Christian I lived my life doing good and trying to live peaceful. But, out of love I try to reach the lost and granted may do so in poor ways.

If the others are right each has a drastic version of hell and none are pleasant and should be avoided at all costs.

So God is absolute right is a meaningless concept to him as he is above our ideas of the word, but yes he is right in the purest form of the word. Therefore I would rather die being right as it will mean I truly lived and will live forever.

I also refuse to "respect" other religions that are wrong and taking my fellows to a fate worse than death. I will hopefully through honest answers and living show the truth and what you do with it is up to you.

Jesus never once respected another "view" he even had the audacity to challenge the very "Religion" his father started as they had gone astray. Christians are not immune from going astray and many will find themselves on the outside looking in. So again Right is all that matters.

You make a dreadful mistake in assuming God has not revealed himself to humanity when he has in Jesus. You think God is just going ot sit up there and let us guess whether we're saved or not? Whether we are doing his will or not? If so you believe in a very small inept god. And there is more to life than just being ethical. There are going to be plenty of ethical people who follwoed the law who think they are good by their own standards yet denied Gods truth and never got their sins forgiven.

It is stated to the best of my ability that 'For God so loved the world he gave us His only Son to die on the cross to save us.'

And the essence of the commandment is to first love God with all our heart, all our mind, all our soul, all our strength. Then we love one another. When Jesus Christ came into the world he was the light of the world. Because people loved darkness more than the light, they rejected him.

We don't know what happen to us when we die. The dead don't give praises it's the end of them.

Jesus Christ came into the world to teach us to come to Him and to follow and be obedient to Him as He also is obedient to the Father.

According to this we can choose to believe what he teaches or to reject it. Our freedom to be can also choose to alter this belief. And today there are different beliefs.

And to say that I'm right may be wrong to another. We can choose to live in harmony with one another as in love one another - because we do we look out for their best interest (in this world and in the life to come - without force.)

This world passes but the life to come is eternal. We don't know what lies ahead so to be safe we have to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and do our best to be like him.

By example as in the New Testament he teaches us how to live, he didn't fought against his accusers, his works is committed to God, he helps and he heals, he works the works of God.

Because of his love for us we must love him and love one another too by following his example and being obedient to Him. Once we die that's it there's no going back and we don't know what lies ahead. We don't so we put our trust in Him, he helps, he heals, he gave us His only son to die on the cross for us, he does not want any one of us to perish but it is so because of our disobedience.

So we follow Jesus Christ and do the works of Him so that in the life to come we don't perish but live because we love him and we love one another when they too come to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior not only by their mouth but in their works also through faith.
