MTR means "Mass Transit Railway". It's what Americans call subway. It is about the most convenient way to go around town in Hong Kong, given how jammed the traffic above ground is.

Manch is correct. The MTR is the best way to get around Hong Kong. When I was there in late November 2006 with my fiancee, we used it all the time. We were able to get to Disneyland and Ngong Ping 360 via the MTR. Once you learn where to change trains, it is quite easy to get around.
