No. You make sure that you know the person you're sleeping with and know that they don't have any STD's. You shouldn't sleep with someone unless you know them and know they're sexual history.

By saying you do want a baby I assume you have the financial and support means to provide for a baby, including a good job and health care insurance. Unless you can afford artificial insemination, there is no way not to risk getting a STD while trying to get pregnant. Saying you want a baby but do not care to know the father well enough to know that he may not have a STD seems a bit immature. Either that, or go to the doctor with the father and both of you have testing for STD's and if they are negative you are relatively safe. However, there is not a reliable test for some conditions in a male (HPV,herpes) and someone may be infected with HIV for a while before a test is positive.

First of all, if you are less than 25 years old, you shouldn't be having a baby. Your parents will be raising the child, not you, if you are less than 20. From 20 to 25, you should party hearty before you get tied down with a child. This is especially true if you weren't very popular in high school, because once you graduate you start a whole new phase of your life, with new friends and a new found popularity.

If you are of age you have 2 choices. An ongoing relationship with a guy that is "clean", or artificial insemination. If you can't afford the insemination, you can't afford the baby. Third option; adopt.

Your only like 13 right (I read one of your previous questions) I know you probably feel like you want to have a baby now, but the feeling will pass. In no way am I judging you, because I can recall the desire for a baby when I was your age. I didn't care if I ended up a single mom, and I didn't care much about school either (which will be hard to complete with a baby). I didn't think any of that was all that important, as long as I loved my baby. Plus, it seemed to me like there were alot of teen mom's in my school, and on tv, and they seemed ok. Alot of my friends had babies at very young ages. They are all single moms (no matter what a guy tells you, he can't or won't be able to help you with the baby, and even if he is able to help you, the relationship won't last) Also, alot of my friends are in there mid to late 20's and just now finishing school. I recommend that you take on a babysitting job, and then imagine what it would be like if the baby's parents weren't coming to pick up the child. Please trust that I have been where you are. I am now 25 and just had my first child. I'm glad I waited for the man I love and until I was financially and emotionally ready for this child. And, to be honest with you, there are times when I wish I had waited even longer. There is so much more I want to do with my life. And you are in the best years of your life. Enjoy it, please. Don't rush to grow up. I'd give anything to be a kid and teen again. And every adult you speak to will tell the same thing.

Get both of the potential parents tested for STDs. I mean, you're not going out to clubs and picking random good-looking guys to be your baby-daddy, are you? That would be very dangerous, not to mention the fact that then there wouldn't be a father figure.

Unless you and your partner are both virgins, then you should both be tested for STDs before you start having sex. At least that would be the most responsible thing to do. Unfortunately most people don't get tested, which is how STDs spread.

First get into a monogamous relationship where both of you have been tested for STD's. Or you can always go to a clinic and get artifically inseminated where hopefully the specimen has been tested for all infections.

well, to start off you should know the person you want to father your child. it would be advisable to be in a commited relationship with that person and for you both to get tested before having any unprotected sex in order to protect you both.

I hope this helps. I hope you are ready for a baby.

are you talking about just sleeping with someone at random to have a child? wow, that is not very smart....of course you do not take the chance. you could end up with AIDS. go to a sperm bank, and if you can not afford that then you should not have a kid anyway.

How long have you been with your man?
If you both are tested, having sex should be okay
Both of you should not be having sex with anyone else
Most people I know who are planning on having a baby, does not worry about ST D's

make sure that both of your are tested for them. very simple to do. just go to the health department or the doctors. trust me it is better knowing then not knowing. even if you aren't trying for a baby.
