I actually have been kicked out of many of them. I went in to buy black n milds when I was nineteen and they said that I wasn't even allowed in the store. They do have a rule against you being in the store unless you are twenty-one. But, like most things, some people enforce it and some don't.

I never got questoned about it and I was in a ABC store once a week since I was about 17 or so. But I know it's illegal to do here in NC because all of the liquor stores are owned by the state and is punnishable with fines and possible jail time for the person that is over 21 accomping you. But as long as you don't touch anything I would say you would be fine.

Here in NC you can't go into an ABC store by yourself or if you are with someone if you are 18, 19 or 20. If you are under 18 you can go in with someone that is at least 21 It's weird.

when I lived in Fl. 30 yrs. ago, when you turned 18, you could buy anything from beer to JimBeam. they have changed that now. In NC. you have to be 21 to purchase anything alcoholic. If you bring a 20 yr. old with you, they won't sell it to you. that is if they card the 20 yr. old which is not likely to happen if they appear of age. you won't get into trouble, you just can't buy. they refuse service. the police could get you for contributing to the delenquency of a minor but it is unlikely unless they have evidence to do so.
