I got my lip pierced a week ago and i thought it was healing ok but now there is a bump forming just below the piercing on the inside of my lip. It isn't really painful and the lip is a little red around the inside hole. The outside of the piercing looks fine. It gets a little crusty during the night. I was using sea salt to rinse my mouth but stopped and am just using water now. I clean the piercing twice a day. Lip is still a little swollen too. There is still some white stuff coming out of the inside of the lip but i was told by the piercer that this is normal. Just wondering what the bump is and if it will go away eventually. Does this sound like infection at all? Please help!

Most likely it is hypertrophic scarring and they can be buggers. I had them on both of my tragi, and it took a little work and determination to take care of it. Patience is the key, especially with ALL piercings.

You can keep on using the sea salt rinse also do sea salt soaks:

Too other good remedies are either tea tree oil :http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Tea_Tree_Oil

or even Chamomile tea soaks

Just read up on these links, and also look on that site for other information about piercings that may interest you in your healing process.

Hope that this helps

It could be an infection. The white stuff coming out of the piercing is normal. Your jewelry may be too tight, which is causing the redness and pain around the inside of the piercing. The bump may be an infection or it may be scar tissue forming.

kinda sounds like its getting infected, what ever you do DO NOT take the piercing out, this could cause the hole to heal trapping the infection on the inside. go back to where you had it pieced and have the piercer take a look at it, if your not able to get down there soon get yourself some witch hazel and clean it four times a day with that. the white discharge from a piercing is normal dont worry about that but the bump I might be a little concerned about, if your really worried have your doctor look at it, you can also rinse with listerine a few times a day also, dont use the witch hazel on the inside of your mouth. hope this helps you out :)

Thats merely an absess and that they are greater beneficial than simple with piercings. attempt making use of a few h2ocean (or yet another salt water answer) on it or merely proceed taking perfect care of the piercing and it could bypass away with time. Tylenol could help in case you have any soreness. Im unsure what you employ to bathe it, yet ive have been given 13 piercings and the main suitable factor ive ever used on them became h2ocean. It definetly quickens the healing technique and removes those nasty absesses.
