How does the recoil compare to a 22-250?
How loud is it?
What do you think about this round on coyotes?
Does it compare to the 17 cal. in shootabilty as far as volume and recoil?

Basically what I want to know is ... Is it a loud, heavy recoil round? I plan coyete in an urban setting. What are your thoughts, or recommendations?
Thanks!!

coyote in an urban setting?

My first thoughts is how heavy is the human population in this urban setting.
The 204 has a lot of range, and any strays could be very dangerous to human population.
The recoil is less then the 22-250 and it is as loud as a 223, which could disturb the human population.
In my opinion the 204 is better then the 17 Remington by far, where as the 223 is better then the 204 but again this is my opinion.

Before you do any shooting in this urban setting I would contact the local Police and or Sheriffs department to find out the legalities, better safe then sorry.

I assume you mean the 17 Remington...

I'm not sure about comparing them, but the .204's a top-notch round for pretty much anything small, coyotes would be no problem.

In urban areas this would be a good gun. I think the light bullet is what keeps it from being a good super-long-range round, which in an urban setting shouldn't be a problem for you. The velocity is good, they're real quick bullets. I reccomend it. It's not that loud, it's louder than any rimfire but it's not too bad.

204 good shooting gun recoil not that bad not to loud would make a good coyote gun my Friend has got a 204 and really likes it i shot a 243 and it is about the same gun and i really like it it is a flat shooting gun just like the 204 you have Meany configure of shells from 55 grain to 100. Meany kind of tips like soft nose hard or ballistic tips so ether way a 243 or a 204 would be a great gun for you. good luck

Sure, for coyote it is fine. And for small varmints. Just remember, it is not a deer rifle. For deer you should move up to at least a .243.

How does it measure up against a .17? Well, it shoots a slightly wider bullet. I've never shot one so I can't comment on the report or recoil. Sub-caliber rifles have negligible recoil, in my experience.
