Actually your son has not quite entered his Oedipal phase. If he were 6, I would worry, but at 3, no problem. At this point it is important that he has a loving mother, who is his primary identification and primary love object. He also needs a good male role model in his father. When he has that he will advance to a point by the time that he is 6 to keeping his mother as the primary love object and switching to you as his primary identification. Are you really weird? ... hum... well ....

I guess I am one of the few that read the details to your question. Anyway, parents that seriously do blame cartoons for influencing their children's decisions need to grow up and start taking responsibility.
