If she has a lot of money and you can stay away from the family then you should be ok. If she relies on the family to help her make decisions you will not have a good life with her.

I know some people have said it's about the two of you and your love, and not your families, and maybe for some people that works, but if you're planning to have a really serious, long-term relationship, like have children together or get married, then it's important that you get along with their family as well. First of all, their family is part of who they are, and you don't ever want to put someone in a position where they have to choose between their family and you. Second, my parents really don't like each other's families, and that has always been hard on me and my brother. We know when we visit one set of grandparents that one of my parents is unhappy the whole time, and they badmouth each other's families to me and my brother. It's hard because we love both sets of grandparents but we feel like our parents don't want us to. The worst was when my grandpa died (my dad's dad) and my mom didn't even care.
Don't ever do that to kids.

I have the same problem my b/f's family annoy the hell out of me when they treat him bad but i still have to be nice cos he loves them. The only advice i can give you is to just be yourself and be there for your partner chances are they rub him up the wrong way too. But whatever you do DONT put them down all the time to him cos no matter how justified you are for doing it he will automatically defend them and you'll be the bad guy.
My partners sister fought with him cos he wouldn't leave me on my own (sick and pregnant) on christmas day to travel to see his family so i know how u feel and how angry it can make you. But now im over it and i just let his sis run on cos he's whats important not his family and as long as he puts you first when it counts and stands by you when you need him then stuff his family.
Good luck hope it all works itself out for you.

Hire a hit man to get rid of them....... Seriously though have you tried confronting the family and asking them what their problem is (in a friendly way)? Thats what i'd do. If they are just difficult people in general theres probably nothing you can do (except the hit man thing) other than put up or move on

i had this problem myself but it was my mother that was interfearing and i didnt see this untill it was too late and i lost my girlfriend over it but had i have known i would have told my mother to back off so i think you firstly need to let your partner know about your issues with there family and try and get them to talk to thier family about letting you get on with your relationship together

Well, you need to be honest with your partner. My family get on my boyfriends nerves but he just makes a joke about it, not to their faces of course!

just remember its about your love not his or her family, you need to just be your self and let it go and they either come around or not. what you need to worry about is if they have your loved ones ear.. he or she needs to stick up for you to them and if they don't rethink the relationship.. good luck
