I purchased Tony Little's microbead bed pillows. (from HSN)They're very comfortable. But I recently discovered an unusual property in them .I found that when the room was pitch dark and I manipulated the pillow I saw a few glow like sparks in the pillow.Sort of a green color.I didn't believe what I was seeing. I did it over and over to make sure I was seeing correctly. Does anyone know what this could be? Has anyone purchased these pillows?I haven't been able to get a response from HSN and can't find a contact number for Homedics, the manuafacturer.I'm only concerned about the health and safety issue with them.

What you saw was just static electricity discharges. As far as other health and safety issues, the main area of concern would be pets or small children aspirating the beads/pellets if they are leaking out.

Their customer service phone number is 1-800-HOMEDICS. They also have a customer service page on their website.

I have some microbead pillows - not the same brand. My pillows were made out of small styrofoam like beads. styrofoam can be easily statically charged -- I think that what you saw was the static from styrofoam discharging
