Why dont they have a closer look and realise people faught for gay rights, womens rights, for open attiudes to sex and an end to repression.

For girls to be able to have a sex life.

I really do not need to see the links, it is quite apparent that ISlam has taken the place left when the Roman Catholic Church lost it's srtanglehold on it's people after the invention of the printing press.
The Catholic Church has committed all the attrocities of Islam and more in the not so distant past. It really boils down to what each individual and group of individuals will tolerate. If no one will comply with horrible men who hold fear of personal tragedy over other men's heads as a form of control, the power base of these wicked people will be dissolved.

i myself have no reason to love muslims, but that is not relevant to answering this question..

the reason most people hate muslims stems from ignorance..as in the very same reason, people have hated other religions in turn over the course of the centuries.. because they don't understand it , they demonize it..

so instead of tolerance and friendship offered to them, muslims as well as other religions are shown hatred or are often as not shown religious offence as people are unaware that what they are doing is against their religious laws, so as they are made to feel like lepers, so instead of turning to their new communities for help settling in, they often as not turn to the very same people that promote hardline islam,. as they feel in this way they are justifiued in thier hatred..
