Is there an official term for someone who believes that a religion (any one will fit) is true, but makes a conscious choice to not to follow it's teachings?

By the way, this doesn't describe me. I'm a happy atheist. I'm just asking for curiosities sake.

only one conscious choice? A miracle--most religious people make conscious decisions to disobey their religion's teachings a hundred times a day

Well good question, I think it is your path.
I know you only live once and there is no guarantee that you'll ever be back this way again. So live every day to the fullest. Leave religion to the weak minded people who invented them.
If you must believe in something let it be your breath, with out it there is no life. It is the way to open doors and close doors.
Yoga would be a good start.

It can be

Agnostic: a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existice of nature of God, or of anything beyond material phenomena (so religion in general); claims neither faith no disbelief in God

You dont deny any religion of his aspects, but you dont follow by it.

Anyone of you who is labelling Christianity "hyprocrites" or is trying to make that point. I would like to also point out that is very judgemental of you.
All religion does in general is teach you to do right. If you want to learn the true teachings of it go straight to the core of the religion, instead of judging the religion by people's actions, by doing so, you are just being ignorant.
It is never the religion's fault, it is the people. If you are going to put faults on a religion through a believer's actions, than every single religion in this world would be hypocritical.
Label the people, not the religion.

Religion is based purely based on the person's faith, if you are going to base them on facts, than its not a religion, its science. And when ppl faith lead them to wrong intentions, than its their fault, again not the religion.

Free spirit.

I don t follow any religions, I question every belief that i encounter, yet at the same time I respect them as well, as long as they are respectfull of my freedom .

I think too many people follow blindly into religions. Instead one should use there brains, and use life s experiences to teach them.

Unsaved for starters. Stubborn maybe. Unwilling to give up fleshly desires?

Churches are full of people who believe but do not follow Jesus.

James 3:17... faith without works is useless

James 3:19 "You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe and shudder."

Believe and faith mean the same thing. To put your faith in something/ to believe in something but do nothing about that faith, well like it says:
James 3:26 "For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead"

I hope this answers your question

Hypocrite

I'm sure it's not "official," but hypocrite fills the bill. As for Saphire04, PEOPLE created religion. That answer was rather convoluted. It's one of those--don't do as I do, do as I say. How's that for convoluted?

The closest I can think of would be a "religious pluralist."

Religious pluralists believe in the validity, legitimacy and truth of ALL religions, when viewed within their respective cultures.

Um, messed up?

That's like understanding the lines on the road, believing they are there for good reason, but refusing to drive in a lane... odd.
