There was this boy who looked really nice and I like him, but when I tried to talk to him at the dance yesterday, my best friend freaked out! She was telling me not to talk to him, and not to like him. And I have no clue what to do! Help?

Well I know she doesnt like him because she was like "He's an idiot and he's mean you don't belong with him." But, he seemed so nice, I couldn't believe her that she thought he was mean. My real question is, Should I still like him?

Good friends are hard to come by. Are you sure she's your friend? If you are young you are in for a rude awakening. I look back now & laugh at myself for some of the friendships I had when I was young! My dad always told me you could count your true friends on one hand. Focus on what's really important in life. Boys come & go. Don't be in a rush to get all tied down at an early age. College is more important. Ask your mom or dad what their thoughts are. They are the best friends you'll ever have & they have your best interest in mind.

You didn't say whether or not she gave you any specific reasons for not wanting you to talk to or like him. Ask her straight out why she doesn't want you hanging out with this guy. Do either one of you really know him? If she doesn't give you an honest answer, one that you can accept on why she doesn't want you hanging out with this guy, then I think you should get to know him better. Make the judgement yourself rather than letting her make the decision for you. Maybe she's just jealous. If neither one of you really know him, then maybe anything she may have heard about him might just be rumors and maybe she'll change her mind. I guess the bottom line is find out for yourself if he's worth getting to know better.

She's either jealous or just mean. If you like this boy then you need to follow your feelings and get to know him. Tell your friend that you appreciate that she is looking out for you but you just want to get to know him. If your friend is truly your friend then she should understand your feelings and support you no matter what. If she doesn't support you then she was never your friend to begin with.

Well it seems as though your friend doesn't like you liking this guy. She may just fear that he will hurt you or maybe she likes him and is scared that if he talks to you that he will not give her a chance. I have been in the same situation before. Just talk to your friend and I hope everything works out!

lol well she is telling you not to talk to him or like him because she likes him!!!back off the guy that you like, let him make the decision. no boy or man is worth a friendship!! if he so happens to choose you and your friend is still angry then the friendship wasnt real to begin with! she should be happy for you not angry with. same for you!

You're best friend don't like you and she's like this guy really if you want to test hear going to you're bf and tell him to do something for you and let him go to hear and you will see hear face when she toking with him or meeting him ... you need to know about what she want i she really like you and want the best for you ....or ....?

Is your friend going out with him?...If she is ok stay away. If not why is she mad? If she likes him she should talk to him, if she thinks hes "not cool" than that's her problem. If you like him talk to him. If you "friend" is really a friend, she will support you.
