Both the British and the French colonized the country. Quebec is French speaking, along with many cities in eastern Canada. Our two official languages are French and English. We all learn French and English at school when we are young. The French spoken in Canada is actually a dialect of French called Quebecois. There are also other dialects of French in Canada such as acadian and (excuse the spelling) chiac. Along with other dialects as well.
