I am not a bad person. I just don't believe in god. I also am not afraid of god or heaven/hell, so it would be illogical to try and scare me into believing. Why do they tell me I am going to hell?

To let you know I have no fear of hell. I just want to know what goes on inside their head that makes them think that I would be afraid of hell. What would making me believe do for them? Why do they need me to believe?

I am not bothered by what they say, but rather why they say it. I would like some help in understanding as to why they are obsessed with converting me. I just cannot see the reason behind it; to a degree that satisfys my curiosity.

Think of how selfish & uncaring they would be if they didn't share their faith with you. You say you don't believe it & that is your right. But for those who do believe, they aren't trying to scare you as much as they are WORRIED about you. Think of it as they believe they have the perfect medicine for someone. Even if that other person disagrees, how selfish a member of the human race would have to be to not try to tell them about it.

Answer the following questions:

1 how are you not bad person and with what standard are you using and according to whom?

2 how are you a good person and with what standard are you using and according to whom?

3 you dont believe in God, but do you believe that you yourself are your own god?

4 you didnt exist forever so how do you know what is illogical and what is logical?

5 were you there when the world was created according to your own belief system?

6 how did you come to have a belief system if you dont believe in something?

7 are you the best or worst person that you know of, and how did you come up with the scale?

8 If there is no God, why do you have a knowledge of one?

9 If there is no God, why is there a concept of a good person and a bad person.

10 if you are not afraid of God, why are you wanting someone to bolster that thought process.

The answers to all these and more can be summed up in this, because you do have a concept of good and evil, you also will be held accountable for that knowledge, and since you possess it, then there must be something remotely to it, and you better find out about it before it is to late.

The bottom line is this can you truly afford to be wrong?

Think about it?

It's ok to not be afraid of hell, just know that heaven is a perfect place. No sin, no suffering, perfect happiness and living next to a loving and powerfull God. It's not being afraid of the wrong, but loving the good. When you find that, then and only then you will understand. God bless.

They are worried that they themselves may go to hell. Maybe they think that by converting as many people as possible before they die they will be guaranteed a spot in Heaven.
Also, scare tactics have been used for years to get people to do things that they don't want to.
I'm sitting here freezing; Hell doesn't sound too bad right now.

Well it should be obvious that they want to hurt you and cause you to have an awful life. What else could it be? I mean...what if...they were actually trying to ..... help.....you?...gasp..!
You see, GOD , Heaven and Hell's existence is not depend ant on whether or not you believe that they exist. One would have to conclude therefore that the ppl who tell you this are actually trying to help you, indeed.
You need faith to believe that these do not exist so why not use the measure of faith that GOD gave you to try believing in HIM?

Hell is the Greek word for "mankind's common grave."
Christendom was seeking converts and one way is to adopt some of false teachings into the new religion and help people to convert easier.
Instead of teaching the truth, they contaminated the True Religion that Jesus taught his followers to believe in.

Dude, don't sweat it. I'm a non-believer too. I mean, I respect peeps views on religion and all, just don't try to push it on me. And when Peeps refer to me as a heathen or whatever, I think about those clergy that laid with kids. Pedo preachers. Patooey! What a bunch of crap.

You don't hav to be a believer in order to be a good person. Besides, not being a holy roller leaves my options of being a bit evil open. MWAHAHAHAHA!

If your not born again by God's Spirit, if you have not had your sins forgiven by God, then you are going to hell.

There is a way which seems right unto man, but in the end it leads to death (spiritual death).

For I know the plans I have for you says God
Plans for good and not for evil
Plans to give you a future and a hope

Traditionalists will tell you that qualifications for heaven or he|| is whether you've lived a good life. As long as your "good" surpasses your "bad", you'll make it to heaven.

The Bible, however, says that entrance into heaven is qualified by one thing, that you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

So, most likely, it is the Biblical Christians who are telling you that you are going to he||.
