Listen, I've been thinking about global warming. It's really scary when you think about it. We could have a flood because of the polar ice caps. Then some of New York will be underwater. That would be scary, don't you think? I want to help, so here are some ideas:
1. Turn off all lights when you are not using them. When daylight is coming through windows, don't turn on any lights.
2. Recycle everything you can.
3. At some grocery stores, they sell reusable cloth bags. They are only 99 cents usually, so buy some. They can help save trees.
4. Plant a tree. Since trees give out oxygen, they can help the enviornment.
I know these sound like little things, but they really do help. As a younger person, I will be living in this world when I get older, and I want to help. I mean, what happens when New York gets flooded, do you think that would be scary? Because I would. I saw the movie, An Inconveint Truth, by Al Gore, it is a grea

I am glad at least one person responded. (Probably others have responded by now) This is a big deal. I mean, let's say that the country we live in blew up. We could move to a new country. If our world blows up, where do we go? Nowhere, that's where. You have to get in to this. You have to do something. Go to your principal and ask him to paste posters around the school about global warming and start a club or program about it. We have to help our world. I know it seems far away, but it won't go away over night. We have to start as soon as possible, then it will very slowly but surely start to reverse itself. I really hope you listen to what I am saying and do something. I am just your average girl, who doesn't want to possibly die in a while.

I am glad you guys all agree with me, but it really will make a difference, not like scooping the ocean with a teaspoons. I believe that ine voice turns in to two, two turns in to three, and three turns in to many many more. A good idea is a walkathon. Get a group of friends and organize a walkathon. After or during it, talk about the global warming issue and tell everyone how much walking can help our enviornment. If you take the train, and you live close to the train station, take a bike! Hope you can help. Remember, tell your friends, family, and encourage teachers to talk about it to their students, mostly science teachers.

You are right on ! Plant that tree, recycle, use alternative fuels, stop using plastic, use alternative means for transportation..This has been an issue since the 60's..Washington lobby's have shot it down time and time again......
It's up to the youth of America to do what you gotta do ......Don't accept anything less than to protect the environment.....America has been the worst in failure to produce alternative resources for fuel....
MAYBE SOMEONE WILL DO SOMETHING NOW !
The worst thing is to hear about the Polar Bears and cubs drowning, penguins can't produce eggs that will bring healthy chicks......
You talked about NYC..There will be no Los Angeles, Florida, Louisiana , Mississippi , and other coastal states will be flooded........
Just keep pushing for the change ........

In order to promote environmental responsibility you need to make an economic incentive for it. The only thing on your list that people MIGHT do is turn off their lights because NOT doing so will cost them money on their electric bill.
People don't necessarily recycle goods unless A) it is required by law (like corrugated cardboard) B) they get a refund (like glass bottles in Michigan) C) they get an emotional "return" by having been convinced that they are saving the world or D) it is incredibly easy and convenient to do so.
People won't buy cloth bags. Plastic is cheaper than cloth. As long as a plastic bag is cheaper than cloth, people won't buy cloth bags.
People won't voluntarily plant trees. It takes time and it is inconvenient. In order for trees to be planted, it must be done by the state (= government). Unless people get an emotional or monetary return for planting trees, it won't happen.

Right on! Don't pay any attention to people who say small things can't make a difference. It's small things that will make the positive difference, like being more careful with turning lights off, and taking public transportation.
It's great that you are thinking about this and making other people aware. Another thing to look into is reducing your intake of meat--we waste a lot of energy diverting water and tending crops that go to feed cattle. This would be more efficiently used to produce grain to feed people right off. I live low on the food chain as an ecologically moral vegetarian:)

What? i have not in any respect heard of this earlier, not in any respect innovations see it ensue! 90s! i wish that they are no older than 10! via the undeniable fact that is a severe case of anorexia. if you're older than 10, attempt to be proud that you do not weight any less than 110. trust me, men (the best ones besides) choose a lady to be healthy! those boys who were gawking on the "skinny women" haven't any flavor or complication-free sense. The skinniest woman isn't the superb-searching woman.

The thought is good, but in the overall scheme of things, such efforts are equivalent to bailing the ocean with a teaspoon. Gore's flick is a propaganda piece, and needs to be viewed with that in mind. The UN has proposed a 50-year plan to deal with global warming; the price tag is $557,000,000,000,000 -- far more than the total value of every asset on the planet.
