Could be more jail time or it could also mean more probation for the breach of probation.
I have arrested people that were on probation for multiple breaches of probation (Canada).

the only thing that happens for sure when you break probation is that the deal that was made to put you on probation in the first place will be reviewed.
for instance, if the case was continued without a finding and the guy got a year probation, then they may reverse that and give him a conviction and a permanent record...

He us most likely in jail. If he violated his probation. He will sit in jail until he goes to his gagnon hearing which is a probation violation hearing. He might get time served and get out and he might get more probation added on. Call the county jail to see if he is definitely in there.

When you break probation, you go to jail. End of story. Call the county jail. Usually they will tell you. Also, check the web. Some localities have an inmate search feature.

When he was placed on probation, he probably had time hanging over his head...meaning, he was placed on probation but told that if he had any violations, then he'd have to spend that time in jail.
Call the jail and ask if he's there. They'll tell you.
