The file has the Media Player icon, but nothing happen when I open it with double click

the icon is just your default player.

Go to the link in my sources and search for VLC it's got almost every codec pre-downloaded and it's free, best video player there is.

Or you could google up how to convert it from .asf to .wav but thats a pain.

You sure the .asf is a legit video? I've never seen a legit .asf make sure the size is right

Media player 9 and up run asf format. It's a streaming video format that microsoft owns the patents on and it plays in their players.

Check your media player version and update it if you have to, you might also want to look into MS media on their site for the latest codecs.

You could also go to http://www.free-codecs.com and download any of the all in one codec packs there. You'll never need another media player again.

The file extension .asf will not play with Media player or Real player.
No guarantee however this application should do the trick:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Plays most file exstentions.

go to www.downloads.com and search vlc media player
that should work
