Once more I deign to offer a most fatuous riddle.
It is not worthy of MY merest consideration.
You mortals may make of it what you will.

It can move with absolute silence,
may contribute to deaths, but doesn’t do violence.
Descending with speed, you can not hear it,
and it’s very common for mortals to fear it.

To some it means evil, but that’s not fair,
at times its ubiquitous and everywhere.
In the securest safe it may be found,
and in the coffin buried underground.

Paradoxically it predate it’s age,
in The Book, its on the first page.
It has a prince, but I think no king,
can you discern the nature of this thing?

A reasoned solution should be given for those who seek the best answer award.

A full solution will be posted - all in good time.

The solution is indeed dark or darkness.

With no REASONED answer I am obliged to elaborate further.

FIRST VERSE

- fairly self explanatory. Darkness (and night) is said to fall or descend.

Nyctophobia is the fear of darkness.

SECOND VERSE.

"To some it means evil, but that’s not fair,"

Darkness/dark can be used as euphemisms for evil. Ie dark deeds. Other possible solution can’t. Also double use of "fair" meaning both unbiased and "not fair" meaning not of light colour.

"at times its ubiquitous and everywhere."

Well at night, there is more darkness. (Even the sun itself will experience darkness should you wait long enough).

Rest of verse self explanatory. Darkness is good at getting "into" confined spaces.

THIRD VERSE - (my favourite and should perhaps have been a standalone riddle)

"Paradoxically it predates it’s age,"

Informally, the dark ages of course. But we had darkness before the dark ages, so it’s older than its age. Rules out other solutions.

"in The Book, its on the first page."

Some ambiguity here. The Book (note capitals) alludes in this case to The Bible (other holy books also with some poetic license ie Medinan sura of Qur’an)
Genesis 1:2 (King James Version)

2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

"It has a prince, but I think no king,"

Prince of darkness being Satan in popular culture and mythology. I do not know of a "king of darkness?"

cannot be herd can not be smelt
it lies behind stars and under hills
