I cannot believe how stupid some parents can be! I came home from Asda today and followed a car which had at least four children it it jumping rouond like chimps at the zoo. Why were they not buckled in? As a parent and a childminder I cannot think of one good reason why this should happen. Car seats and booster cushions are so readily available why is this still happening. I just hope none of these stupid parents ever have the misfortune of crashing and injuring their little ones.
I have a seven seater just so that everyone who travels with me has the appropriate seat and is seat belted in properly.

Yes, sar13. It was ridiculous. But to be honest I had got the right booster seats/ restraints already so didn't affect me.

Lori- have you bean beaten round the head????????? Where in this question does it indicate to you that she is beating her kids whilst driving????????????
I know a woman who drives a shogun with her 5 kids, none strapped in... sometimes hanging out of the windows while the vehicle is moving. People like that should be reported. How can they get away with it. Makes me maaaaaaaad!!!!

i don't know, but I would have called the police.
When I was in high school I worked at Burger King and a couple pulled up at the drive thru with 2 kids buckled in and an empty infant car seat in the back of the car, the wife was sitting in the front seat holding the baby which could not have been over a month old on her lap. After they pulled away I called the police and watched as they were pulled over and ticketed not even a block away from where I work.

I don't know. I ask the same of the parents that DO strap the kids into car seats, but don't wear seat belts themselves. Great, the kids are safe, but where will they be if Mom and Dad are dead? At least YOU'RE doing the right thing. We can't control what others do. I live in Florida, though, and if everyone in the car isn't buckled up, you get a ticket.

They are so stupid to believe it will never happen to them; they think they will be able to see all the dangers; that they can stop in time; but it is often out of their control. People like this are criminally negligent; if they took their kids to a funfair, they would be screaming the place down if the kids were not strapped into the rides; yet they don't think it applies to their own cars. Some people don't deserve to have kids.

There is a difference between stupidity and ignorance. It could be that these people are not cognizant of the potential danger of not being safely strapped in while riding in a motor vehicle. In a lot of areas it is a violation of the law not to wear a seat belt.

Because these sort of people are lazy and it is to much hard work for them to discipline their children and make sure they are safely strapped in. By the way did you see the prices shoot up when it became law for the booster to be used.

Stupidity and ignorance..I dont know why some people even have children if they dont want to take FULL responsiblity for their actions and children. It also infuriates me when I see kids walking across the road and the parents are a few steps behind them not even holding hands..Arhhh...
Also it probably requires an effort on their behalf which they obviously dont want to do...

Because they have the attitude that "it can't happen to me". If only they truly saw the heartache that other parents and caregivers feel when they thought the same and caused the children's deaths or permanent damage during an accident!! For me, it only took seeing one person's story to know that this was something that I didn't want to take any chances of it happening to MY BABY!!!

It can only be laziness or ignorance, but apart from the enormous safety issue, you'd think it would be annoying to have the kids jumping about and climbing over each other wouldn't you? This is the one time when it's acceptable to tie your kids down!

WHAT!!!????
That's completely unacceptable!
If it were me, I'd have taken the registration number and make of the car and reported it to the local police station where they would be able to get in touch with the owner of that vehicle. Seriously, that is beyond a joke!
Some people just chouldn't be in charge of children!
