i just recieved a chi,but i just got home and noticed his teeth are real bad.he is 5 yrs old.utd shots where can i get low cost dental work done on him in massachusetts?i'm not well to do.but i could not leave him where he was.so many dogs she was breeding him and now didnt need him .if i cant get some help should i put him down??

if i were you, i would contact your local humane society. they'll be able to tell you some low-cost animal clinics. you may be pleasantly surprised, his teeth may look worse than they actually are. good luck.

just because an animals teeth are bad doesnt mean you need to put them down unless they are really badly infected and making the dog sick. you can get him soft food to eat that wont hurt his teeth that much when he eats it. If you are looking for low cost dental care for the animal contact your local ASPCA, they have programs and contact numbers for those who would help cover the cost, especially if you told them he is rescued from puppy mill situation.

Thank you first of all, for taking him in from what sounds like a puppy mill.
Call around to many vet clinics and find out what they charge for a cleaning. Sometimes clinics out more in the country are less expensive. You will probably have some extra charges for extractions but he needs to get in soon.

if he's not in constant untreatble pain theres no sense in putting him down! if i where you i would find some numbers to call and ak them what they suggest and costs.
