p'd off cat scratching a sun burn deliberately with one claw. at least for the lining. the shading isnt so bad just kidna like scratching at sunburn. The only instance of twins being tattooed ive seen was one getting a good angel and the other getting the bad, a little cliche perhaps but it worked for them.
Is there anything special to the two of you that you share? even if its something as simple as a favourite colour, try and encorporate it. Perhaps a score line of music that flowed across between you that you both liked. Think long and hard before getting something that you may regret just cos your parents want to give it to you. You CAN say no, even if they are your parents.

I have 2 tattoos. I wouldn't say mine hurt. One was over too quick and the other just felt like a mild burn.
I would think very very hard about:
1) where to put it
2) what it should be.
Both of mine are in places where I can hide them easily (one on hip, one on back of neck) or I can show them without being obscene. I wanted them not to be obvious because they are personal and I didn't want future employers to discriminate against them. (I have a gov't job)
The second thing is get something that has a deep meaning for you. Yeah, dolphins, roses, and barbed wire are nice to look at, but if they don't have personal meaning, what is the point???? You want to look at them when you are 50 and still be glad and proud you have them.
Good luck!!!

well for one, make sure that if u do decide to get a tattoo its something that has meaning to u and wont regret later.
as for tha pain, its not to bad. after a while, in most people it will start to go numb due to your endorphins kicking in, i just got my first tattoo about a month ago, a dreamcatcher between my shoulderblades and it wasnt to bad it usualy depends on what area u get it. the lower back is one of the most painful places because of your spine also the foot and ankle since theres not much muscle or fat between the skin and bone. hope this helped a little. but good luck and its awsome u have parents who are cool with it :}

tattoo pain is totally different than getting shots and the experience itself is different for everybody. as for what to get, that's tough. i would get something related to your being twins but get something unique. trust me! you don't want to get something that you will see on everybody else walking down the street!
is there anything the two of you have in common? besides your birthday i mean? if i were getting a tattoo with my sister i would get an artichoke. i don't know what she would get but artichoke reminds me of her because we both LOVE artichokes. something special like that is SO much better than a generic something off the wall at a tattoo shop. and much more interesting to look at and talk about. trust me. if you need any creative ideas or help finding an artist (it is the MOST important thing when getting a tattoo) i will be glad to help, just send me an email! good luck!

Getting a shot is no where near the same as getting a tattoo!
It does hurt, plain and simple... The adrenaline build up really masks the pain, though. I compare it to getting sliced with a knife. Even if it does hurt I think it's worth it.
But, if you're unsure then don't get one, you really need to want one otherwise you may never be confident with it.
Good Luck.

First, be 100% sure you know what you want. To me, shots hurt way more than getting a tattoo. You can barely even see that tattoo needle, it's so small. It's more like scratching your skin than it is poking it. It's not bad at all, don't worry about it.

Please be sure before you ever get one that you DO actually want one. Depending on the location of the tattoo will determine the pain factor. Usually the fleshier the area, the less pain there is associated with the tattoo. As far as any suggestions, that would be entirely up to you two, just make sure that both of you are happy with it.

i think that`s crazy/cool that your parents let you have tattoos for your birthday, i had to beg my mom and i had hours of explanations too .. but if you aren`t sure, then you shouldn`t get them until you are sure. they don`t hurt as bad as people exaggerate them to be, it feels like a cat scratch at first, the only part that feels really uncomfy that makes you want to move around would be when they go over it to darken that area. i can`t tell you where, for that is your personal preference, but i hope this helps.

don't get a tattoo just to get a tattoo....get something that has meaning to you....tattoos feel a little different than an allergy shot. I thought it kind of felt like being stung by a bee MANY times.

i HATE getting shots, but my tattoos didn't hurt that much, it's a different sensation... kind of like being scratched a lot, it's not that bad, just a little annoying.
the worst part, for me, was the sound of the machine. i always bring someone with me to talk to and kinda drown out the sound lol
