can bagged, shelf stable miso paste be frozen after the bag is opened?

it would be safer if you place it in a fridge than a freezer so the food won't get frozen, unless of course you want to have it in about a month from now.

you can freeze miso in a air tight container...not foil. To defrost, place the container in a bowl of warm water. The water should reach the lid.
