How would you interpret this quote? Do you agree?

I have heard that quote before, most memorably in the 1995 anime Ghost in the Shell (which remains one of my all-time favorites). In this movie, a cyborg agent is searching for what makes her alive. With so many artificial parts, where does her sense of self come from, if it still exists at all? Very philosophical, visually appealing, and I find something new every time I watch it.

During one conversation, her mind is broken into and the words from Corinthians come out of her own mouth: "For although I see through a glass darkly, soon I shall see face to face."

The passage is used to highlight the agent's own search for identity; while her body was vulnerable to being "hacked" into, her mind and everything she uses to identify herself still remains.

Upon reflection, my interpretation is that we are all searching for our own answers in life. Though the "glass" may be transparent, the darkness cannot allow us to see past it. We seek the truth; where true strength lies and who God really is.

But if you walk up to a window and pay attention, when you get close enough you will see a reflection; not of God, but of your own face. YOU are the power in life, and if you pay attention when seeking a higher power, you too can see "face to face."

BTW, I HIGHLY recommend Ghost in the Shell.

You cannot clearly see who you are. This parable was also pointing to the crude mirrors used in ancient times, that gave a distorted image of who you were looking at. The same for self image and how you view yourself.

Yes, and I do believe that we do not see ourselves for the potential we have inside. Until we see ourselves as God sees us, we do not have a clear view of Who we really are or to Whom we belong. How can anyone else?

I think it means that many people are ignorant one way or another about certain topics. I would totally agree, for I went through the same thing with my relatives. But not everybody is this way, of course.

The eyes are the window to the world. We see the dark side of things because sin has tainted the glass. Let God clear away the darkness and walk in the light.
Just my thoughts.

God Bless

Yes, it says in Corinthians but one day we will be see clearly.
Hope its soon!

It means that we do not see the whole picture and do not understand all of God's ways, but one day we will, when we see Him.

NO. Many, maybe most tards perpetually look through rosy glasses to the annoyance of those who see the reality.

I think it means our view of God and what we're supposed to do is dim and faint - but I think it goes on to say we'll see clearly in Heaven or something like that.

It means we all see life differently until the truth prevails.
