A taxi driver was making his daily rounds one day when he saw a woman on the side of the road who wanted to be picked up. He recognized the lady and remembered she was notorious for being a major chatter-box. He wasn't in the mood to chat forever so he had a plan. As she got into the car, he pointed to his ears and shook his head to signal he was deaf. As he turned his head she told him where she needed to go and he quickly took off. He soon reached her destination and pointed to the money meter in the car so she could pay him. She paid him and got out of the car. As she walked away, she realized the cab driver was not really deaf. How did she know this?

mmmm that's a difficult one. I love these kinds of riddles. I don't know. Maybe he didn't "look" to see if the door was closed after she left ?
Besides he could have just said "Sorry, I am deaf" cuz deaf people aren't necessarily fully mute.

He drove her to her destination, and wasn't looking at her lips when she gave it to him. So he either heard her, or was psychic!
