Could our baby have problems?
this is going to be my boyfriend and my first child together,however he has been doing pot since he was 13 years old,and smokes 2 packages a day sometimes more sometimes less.I have convinced him to get some major counseling and rehab but he refuses to quit.Now that we are expecting this baby will it have lots of drugs in it's system and possibly be very sick?

Secondhand smoke is bad for you and bad for the baby.

The baby should not have any problems, unless you have also been smoking grass or if you are around your boyfriend when he is smoking it and breathing in the 2nd hand smoke.
I hope you don't let your boyfriend around your child when he is smoking dope or high on dope. It will affect his reasoning and coordination and he could cause the baby harm.
Too bad you did not stop and think about getting pregnant with a guy that is a doper and does not want to rehab.

Why on earth would you want to be with someone who's been smoking pot since he was 13? What kind of a father figure is he going to be? It's extremely dangerous to smoke around babies & children in general. Second hand smoke is a leading killer. Tell him to quit the dope, or leave his A**. As far as your baby being "ok", talk to your OB/GYN. None of these people answering yuor question have a Ph D (including me). Go get help!

It's at greater risk if you are smoking pot, but few studies have been done that have shown how drug use affects mens' sperm.
All you can do, at this point, is start making better choices now, and try to continue to make good choices in the future, like not having children with people who have drug habits and need rehab.

No, the baby would only have drugs in his system if you were taking drugs. That said, make sure you have regular Dr.'s appointments to ensure that you have a healthy baby, and disclose your boyfriend's drug use to your Dr., they usually ask in a questionnaire anyway. But I think you shouldn't worry, your baby is most likely fine. Take your pre-natals, don't stress, and tell your boyfriend that now is the time to stop doing drugs and become a responsible adult!

You only need to be worried if u are the one that is smoking pot and cigarettes. If its your boyfriend that is doing all that i don't think u have anything to worry about.Besides if there is anything wrong with the baby they can generally tell through ultrasound. I think u are just being paranoid so relax and everything will be ok=)

Oh god no, the middle names are beautiful in spite of the undeniable fact that! Carbon jogs my memory of my technology classification, this is not an exceedingly fantastic call and Exile? isn't that something do do with being banished or demise or something? Please, attempt to regulate the names to the middle ones a minimum of, Nathan and Samantha are are fantastic names and your husband receives a say.

No the baby will be fine . Usually it is the harder drugs that can cause a problem .

as long as you quit and he stops smoking around u, then u should be ok
