I'm taking for severe Strep Throat pain

It's just one of the side effects. Take benedryl or some other straight antihistamine. It will counteract it.

It makes people itch when they're having an allergic reaction to it. You shouldn't keep taking it because your reaction could get worse the more you have in your system. Call your doc and ask for a different pain medication. Good luck.

I don't think itching is a normal side effect. You may be having an allergic reaction. Do you have raised bumps or hives? If you don't have any visible sign of why you are itching, then it could be that your liver is overloaded. Liver dysfuction can also cause itching, usually without any sign of rash or hives. Call your doctor to find out what he/she recommends. You can also call the pharmacy. Good luck.
