First of all 99.9 is really a very low-grade fever. So don't be worried. Fever is actually a good thing, except when it gets very high (over 103) and even then it's just very uncomfortabe. It takes over 105 to actually be dangerous. It is the body's way of fighting illness. Most doctors don't recommend trying to medicate a fever unless it's over 100.5. Then you can treat it will ibuprofen or acetaminophine, as directed on the bottle. Regardless of medication, drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and get rest. Good luck and get well soon.

99.9 is a very borderline fever. It's nothing really. A fever is our bodies way to try to fight off an infection or in your case a cold. Reduceing a fever impedes the bodies defences to help fight off the cold. So reducing the fever at this stage would do you more harm than good. I would not worry about it unless it gets above 103.

A good paracetamol or aspirin based product can be beneficial. Drink plenty of cool fluids and also a cool flannel on the forehead or back of the neck can bring it down. If you have any other symptoms ie dizzyness vomiting sore neck adversion to bright lights then you should get yourself checked out by a medic tonight

That wouldn't be considered a "fever" unless in went up to 101.0,you can take Tylenol or Ibuprofen drink plenty of fluids, stay warm etc. Fever is a "symptom" not a "disease".take care, SW RNP

Sleep - Tylenol is like miracle medicine. I once had a 103 fever. I felt dead. I couldn't move. My head was pounding. I took Tylenol PM - feel asleep - woke up feeling brand new =]
