I don't rightly know the monetary value of the medal. And truth be told, I don't care.
I don't know where you got it and I don't care either. However, the worth of the medal is directly related to how it was earned, by whom, by the measure of the man or woman who wore it.
While selling it is perfectly legal, I believe it is rather despicable. It belongs either on a uniform or in a case that is either in its rightful owner's possession or in an exhibit where its true value can be shown.

If it's solid sterling silver, it's worth $13.83 an ounce.
It's probably worth a lot more as a military relic.
