It should be an hour or 2 but the labor process could last all day. Keep her comfortable, boil some water, make a cup of tea, relax and enjoy the birth of your puppies!

If it lasts more than 6 hours make her some chicken soup, spoon feed if necessary. Labor is tough work!

This is extremely impotant if the water has broken and no puppy arrives within minutes you need to get to vet ASAP if not sooner.
You run the risk of that puppy being dead before you get to vet. Its not like humans - once the sac has broken the pup dries out and potentially dies.
The general rule of thumb is 1 hour from beginning of contractions to first pup being born then 1/2 hour inbetween the rest if goes longer get to vet for caesarian.

it could take seconds, minutes, or up to an hour. If it does take an hour I suggest you take her to a vet immediately, the puppy might be stuck. If that is the case usually a c-section and a spay are necessary. because if the mother usually has problems she just might have more problems with a future litter. that and it is alot nicer to spay than have many unwanted puppies around.

No way to tell - dogs are all individuals. Just stick close to her in case she wants or needs help.
