China grows 0.589% each year because its birth rate is larger than the combination of its death rate and negative migration rate.

China's annual birth rate is 13.25 births per 1000 population.
China's annual death rate is 6.97 deaths per 1000 population.
China's net migration rate is -0.39 migrants per 1000 population.

So, if we take 13.25 births minus 6.97 deaths, we get 6.28.
6.28 minus the 0.39 people per 1000 who leave each year gives us a total increase of 5.89 people per 1000 each year.

If we take this 5.89 increase divided by the 1000 people in the rate, we get an annual increase of 0.589%.

It's not...there are 16 births per 1000 citizens annually compared to 6 deaths...enough for a net increase of 1 million per month.
