Phlebotomy is a field that doesn't have many openings because they're all taken, and lets face it there aren't many positions available to begin with. I mean really, how many nurses and doctors do you see compaired to phlobotomists??

It can be hard because most companies want someone that has experience in the field. no company wants to hire someone that doesn't know what they doing. it is just setting them up for a lawsuit. that is why you go to school get trained and then take a job where ever they will give you one until you have the experience to be picky. drawing blood is not as easy as some people may think. most patients do not like needles and some people have very difficult veins to draw blood from. I know from experience I am a phlebotomist. there are jobs out there and it is a good profession.

It's not hard at all. There's a big demand for back office staff in clinics and doctors' offices, as well as labs in hospitals. I always see ads in the paper for them.

I can't imagine why. All they do is draw blood into tubes. The course is only a few months long so you can't be expected to know too much.
